"Invalid key" when signing in
The two common causes — and how to get a fresh key in seconds.
If signing in returns "Invalid key," it's almost always one of two small things — and both take seconds to fix.
First, check the paste
Your access key looks like pk_a1b2c3… and it's long. The usual culprit is a stray space or a missing character from copying.
- Copy the whole key, from the
pk_right to the end. - Make sure there's no space before or after it when you paste.
- Watch for a device "helpfully" grabbing an extra space next to the word.
Paste it again cleanly and hit Sign In.
Still not taking it?
Keys can be revoked and replaced in seconds, so a bad or expired key is no trouble at all.
